Morning Photo Dive

A perfect morning for scuba diving off an island near Maui.  I upgraded to a Sony a6300 will the Meikon underwater body, and I couldn’t wait to use it on the morning photo dive.  We dove in at about 30 ft. and dropped to 60-70 ft. right away.  The visibility was around 100 ft. and the dive went excellent.  The camera didn’t have any leak issues, and it was awesome to use the underwater zoom function with the depth of field that the a6300 has.

Tide Pools in Hawaii

Hawaii Tide Pools

My friends and I took a little hike out to some wonderful tide pools, and just like any other visit to the pools it was magical.  The waves were crashing over the rock walls and the tide was swirling around our feet.  Such an excellent day to chill at the tide pools in Hawaii.

A Day of Scuba

Bigeye Emporor

Hawaii Scuba Diving Photos We had an awesome day of Maui scuba diving (3 dives); doing a shipwreck dive, a deep reef dive, and a cave dive.  On the dives we saw a variety of coral, fish, monk seals, spotted eagle rays, and more.  The fish species I managed to get in these pictures were Milletseed Butterflyfish, BigEye Emporor, and Hawaiian Damselfish. These Hawaii Scuba diving photos are few of many, check out the rest of our webpage!

Forming a Rainbow

We took a trip out around Hana side with some friends and saw this rainbow forming.  I love to watch the clouds forming a rainbow over Haleakala.

Hiking the Lahaina Pali Trail

The Hike up the Lahaina Pali Trail Hiking the Lahaina Pali Trail can be an amazing experience. Starting from the south side of the Lahaina Pali Trail is the best, if you can get a ride back from the far end.  The Lahaina Pali Trail is 5.5 miles long and has quite an elevation change.  The heat is extreme when you start hiking up, but there are some awesome sites to be seen.  Hiking up takes up about 40 percent of this hike, and it is the hardest part about it.  Take a few breaks on the hike up the … Read More from Photographer on Maui…

Wandering Upcountry Maui

Lately I’ve been spending a lot of time upcountry Maui, taking a few pictures for some for myself and for some friends.  The first upcountry Maui photography in this series was taken in a State Forest on Maui, in the lush upcountry.   The next photo series is of photos that I took for a friend who needed to update her face shots.  Also enjoying the supreme green of upcountry Maui.

Phenomenal Island Sunset

"Purple Dynamics"

Hawaiian Island Sunset This beautiful island sunset was captured at the far reaches of Maui’s south shore in the Hawaiian Island chain.  This sunset was captured by Maui photographer Kevin Hoffman.  An island sunset looking onward to a storm is often one of the most colorful sunsets one can watch. The purple to orange range/dynamic in this sunset was one of the most beautiful seen to date.

South Maui Sunset

South Maui Sunset

Colorful South Maui Sunset We decided to hit up this South Maui sunset that happened on 3/2/15.  The colors for just right for some epic South Maui sunset photography, taken by Kevin Hoffman.

Maui Lava Fields Photography

Maui Lava Field Beach

Photography of Maui Lava Fields We took a walk down south today, through the Maui lava fields cut by The Kings Highway, a footpath reaching back to the late Maui Kings.  The lighting and weather was perfect to take some excellent photos, so we indulged!  There are several beaches stretching through south Maui, and these are photos of some of them in beautiful weather.  The red lava rock looks beautiful against the bright blue sky, and the greens in the Kiawe on South Haleakala are incredibly vivid.  Enjoy these photos!   Gallery from a Lava Field Hike Below is a … Read More from Photographer on Maui…

Makena Wedding ~ Courtney and Dillon

Makena Wedding Photograph

What a beautiful Makena wedding with our good friends Courtney and Dillon. Energy filled the air as these two, with their baby by their side, got married with Makena’s waves crashing in the background. The sun was sinking in the sky when two families joined together in the park to watch Courtney and Dillon say their vows. Our pair had an ukulele and harp playing floating melodies in the evening air as a beautiful reception came together nearby. We were able to sneak off and get some pictures at Makena Beach as the sun sank into the hills. We had … Read More from Photographer on Maui…
